Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin.
1 degree Celsius = 274.15 K. Enter any value to convert degrees Celsius (°C) to kelvins (K), or use the table below for common values.
K = °C × 1 + 273.15
Example: 100 °C = 373.15 K. To convert the other way, use °C = K × 1 − 273.15.
| Celsius (°C) | Kelvin (K) |
|---|---|
| -40 °C | 233.15 K |

On the Celsius scale water freezes at 0 °C and boils at 100 °C at sea level. It is used for weather and cooking almost everywhere except the US.
The kelvin is the SI unit of temperature. 0 K is absolute zero, and one kelvin step equals one degree Celsius, so K = °C + 273.15.
Use the formula K = °C × 1 + 273.15. For example, 100 °C = 373.15 K.
1 °C = 274.15 K.
Use °C = K × 1 − 273.15. 1 K = -272.15 °C.
